our Word and Life Ministries In 2011, the WLM will celebrate it’s tenth year of existence since its humble beginnings in December 2000.  After all these years it is still Rev. Johnnie Tromp who is at the helm as preacher and evangelist, spreading the Word of Our Lord Jesus Christ to those living in the rural areas. He is assisted by five part- time preachers who share the passion to reach and teach the remote communities like Sharon, Eendekuil, Laingsburg, Sutherland, De Doorns and Riemvasmaak (situated in the arid Northern Cape).  In these areas families do not have the privilege of being close to a congregation and are therefore deprived of fellowship, koinonia and regular contact with fellow Christians.  It is to these people that Word and Life Ministry reaches out and proclaims the life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ.  People are taught about discipleship, marriage, parenthood, how to manage their communities, and how to spread the love of Jesus. Travelling between the six centers of ministry covers a hefty 100000 km every year. (Comparing this to space travel, Rev. Tromp drives to the moon every four years!) In 2010 the ministry had a longtime dream fulfilled with the purchase of a WLM owned Mazda bakkie! The rural areas still have a large contingent of people who live remotely, are mostly illiterate and are constantly exposed to substance abuse. It is to these communities that WLM brings the Good News.  In 2011 WLM plans to start ministering in new areas in the Breede River Valley (Ashton, Bonnievale, Montagu). To be successful in all they do, WLM are in constant need of supportive prayer to enable them to travel safely, and minister effectively to these precious people. Igreja Christa Reformada Angola Christian Reformed Church Angola Our involvement and cooperation with the Church in Angola is with the help and guidance of Wessel van der Merwe, a leader of Operation Mobilisation in Angola.  This brother and his wife Joan, and their son Tiago, have been through a series of trials in their ministry to the Angolan people.  Let us thank the Lord for the positive things that have happened since.  Let us also pray with them for the difficulties and challenges they have to deal with right now.   Contribute financially to Word and Life Ministry through the following bank account: Absa Bank Word and Life Ministries Acc no:  907 364 7206    back to top Christian Reformed Church in South Africa
